a necessity to hold all your stuff!!
Ran another 4+ miles today!
The weather, again, was perfect and even better because it wasn’t sunny so I didn’t have to squint my eyes. However, running with a runny nose was not so perfect. This made me think about all the things runners should take with them, no matter what the weather, as they’re embarking on their long runs.
Gu Energy Gel:
Have 15 minutes prior to running & then during your run after every 45 minutes.
One Kleenex To-Go Pack:
For when you’re so stuffed up yet you didn’t even know it was coming.

For me, this is the best weather to run in… not too cold and definitely not too hot (it’s 49 degrees outside at the moment). It’s perfect! While I was running, I was obviously using my trusty RunKeeper app but I found my music playlist to be kind of blah and outdated. It’s one that I made a long time ago and clearly it’s time for an update. So with that, after running my 4 miles outdoors, I was inspired to create a new set of tunes the second I walked into my apt. Now, I am super pumped and looking forward to my long run tomorrow with my new, upbeat playlist!
When I went? Been for dinner twice now.
Who went? Went for the first time with my good girl friends and went with the hubby the second time around.
Favorite part? I’ll put it simply: the really good food. I love how you can share everything you order with the people you’re with since the best items on the menu are found under the “small plates” section (in my opinion anyways). In addition to that, the first time I went, we absolutely adored our waiter and the second time I was there, I fell in love with the atmosphere even more than I originally did. The Mushrooms on Toast were so good that next time I go, I may just get it for myself as my main meal. Like, seriously delicious. I am a total mushroom person to start with but because of that, I’m usually not impressed with mushroom dishes at restos – but this was not the case here… loved it!! If you like beets, I would recommend their take on them and if you enjoy Mac & Cheese, you won’t be disappointed with Little Market’s version. Their french fries are also a stand-out item too. As you can tell, all my favorites were extremely healthy… or NOT! Oooops.
Least Fav Part? When I went with my friends, I honestly left there thinking every single aspect was perfect. However, when I left after having dined there with my husband, unfortunately, there were (only a few) negatives. First, we got scallops and although they were cooked to perfection, the whole dish was thrown off because the sauce was COLD. Yes, cold. We didn’t even say anything because we felt bad and really loved the actual scallops – which were hot and tender. Next, our waiter was not up to par with the service, knowledge, and friendliness I received with the waiter that I had when I went with my girlfriends. The other negatives were minor and not even worth sharing because…
Overall, would I go back? 100% indeed I would! I look forward to trying their Baja Lobster Roll, which the person next to me was eating and told me himself that he thought it was “unbelievable” (yes, I might have asked… we were kind of conversing with their table throughout the meal). I also want to try the Shrimp Cocktail and Gnocchi in the future, however, one thing is for certain: every time I go, I will be getting the Mushrooms on Toast. Obviously!! (Another obvious: every time I go, I know that the next day, I will be working out HARD!)
My two favorite things on the menu…
mushrooms on toast & mac & cheese
I mean….. go make your reservations NOW!
The cool and hip brasserie scene!
Little Market Brasserie is located at 10 E. Delaware Place in the Gold Coast
The reason I’m sharing this with you now? When I originally signed up, I tried it out when I saw a really freaking hot dress that I found online at Bloomies. I mean, I absolutely died for it but it was way too expensive… so I decided to poach it. Since then, I have literally forgotten about this ultra-useful service and have yet to utilize it again. Fast forward to yesterday when I woke up, checked my emails and saw one with the subject line: “Your Poach Alert”. I honestly had no clue what that meant until I opened the email and boom! That really-freaking-hot-dress-I-saw-from-Bloomies-that-I-haven’t-thought-about-once-because-it-was-way-too-expensive, is finally on sale! And better yet, it’s in my price range! And even better still, I would have never known if it wasn’t for Poach It!
I don’t think I’ll be forgetting about this fab service again anytime soon. In fact, I think the term poach it will become my newest favorite vocabulary phrase.
Everyone has something about them that people have complemented them on since the day they were born. For some people it’s their thick, beautiful hair. For others it’s their vivacious personality or gorgeous skin tone.
Well, my something is my eyes lashes.
Since I was a little girl, random strangers would tell me how pretty my eyes are. They would ask me why I’m wearing mascara at such a young age and I would tell them that I wasn’t! Later in life, the complements became few and far between and when I was old enough to actually wear mascara, of course I had to have it… and I wanted to find the one that would make my eyes stand out even more.
I used Diorshow for sometime and while I liked it a lot, it never failed to give me raccoon eyes. Annoying! Since then, I have been through a plethora of different high-end and pharmacy grade brands (ie. Benefit, Lancome, Maybelline, MAC, etc) searching for the one that would not only stay on, but would also thicken, volumize, and lengthen my lashes too. It had to be smudge-proof, flake-proof, and most importantly make my eyes pop to the umpteenth degree! I read review after review, with many of the brands that I’ve tried throughout the years definitely impressing me; but none had it all. Did I ever believe that I would find such a magical mascara that did? Absolutely NOT.
