A casual night out for these Chi-diners!
When I went? Last night. Saturday, February 9th
Who went? The hubs and I for his bday!
Favorite part? The casual ambiance and diner feel. It’s not something you find in Chicago too often and it was definitely a fresh, fun vibe. They have a huuuuuge menu which is probably a good and bad thing; good in that there are just so many amazing choices! Bad in that it’s really hard to choose what to get! I like that Stephanie Izard, winning Top Chef Alum and the master-mind behind the resto, decided for it not to take reservations... because if they did, it’d probably take months to get in, just like it does for her highly rated, out–of–this–world yet fancier sister restaurant Girl & The Goat. In addition, I absolutely love that they serve breakfast all day, everyday. Yeah!
Least Fav Part? Umm, each dish was larger than the next. I guess you could characterize them as too big? If you call that a negative, that would be my only qualm. (Let’s just say we both left feeling really freaking full – which we completely take the blame for, obviously)
Overall, would I go back? Yes! Yes! Yes! In fact, I know I will be back. Although I truly enjoyed everything we got, my hubby chose it all (after all, we were there for his birthday!) Next time, I want to get something off their extensive breakfast menu. Even though it was dinner time, most of the people around us were eating either an omelet, pancakes, waffles or french toast … That’s got to say something, right?!
