When I first heard about it, I immediately texted one of my best friends who lives there to make sure she was okay. Thank goodness she was safe and sound and responded to my text right away.
I wasn’t home to turn on the news so I started reading article upon article on my iPhone as tears shed down my cheeks. What’s most disturbing to me is that there is almost no information yet as to who did this or why it happened. It saddens me to think that every few months, an act so awful as this one unfortunately takes place in our country. There are sick people in the world. On the contrary, though, it warms my heart to think of all the helpers and people out there who care. My facebook/instagram/twitter feeds have all been inundated with support for Boston, showing me yet again, that everyone can come together in times like these. On this day, my heart is filled with sadness in thinking about all the victims that lived through yesterday’s horrible events. My thoughts and prayers are not only with them but with their families and friends, too.
Last night, one of the things that I thought about before going to bed is that we can’t take anything for granted. Life is a roller coaster and in a matter of minutes, everything can just change. It sucks but it’s true. Tell everyone who you care about that you love them, because life is a precious road. And with that, #prayforboston
