Oh My! It’s Already July!

This month, we celebrate America’s Independence Day, it’s typically pretty HOT outside and for me, it marks more of a work break in my life (which I will gladly take!).  Summer School ends on Friday, the 12th and thereafter, I will have lots more free time to do as I please.  Don’t worry, I will be sure to live it up and take full advantage.  Here’s what I plan on doing… behold, my:
JULY’S MUST DOs
  1. Spend a Wednesday happy hour at The Shedd Aquarium for their “Jazzin’ at the Shed” summer series. It began June 26th and it is something that I try not to miss every year for the good company (I usually end up there with a bunch of my good girlfriends), great views, and unique fish-watching experience. Love it!
  2. In the midst of strolling around this beautiful city that I call home, something that I plan on doing during a leisurely weekend with my hubby is going on the relaxing and informative Chicago River Wendella Boat Ride Architecture Tour.  I haven’t done this in a few years and I look forward to it.
  3. On a really hot day (which I’m crossing my fingers comes sooner than later), you will find me at North Ave Beach catching some rays.  Feel free to join!
  4. Something that I’ve always wanted to do is take a kayak ride on a nice Saturday night and watch the fireworks near Navy Pier… they call it a “fireworks paddle” – so perfect! Of course, I’ve taken a kayak ride in the past but it was during the day.  And of course, I’ve watched the fireworks before but never sitting in a kayak on the Chicago River!
  5. Next Monday night I am going to be trying the new Mexican resto El Hefe… I can’t wait!  This has totes been on my must-do list since I heard of it’s opening at the end of May.  I’ve heard nothing but good things about the ambiance and the food and it’s sure to be a caliente good-time!  
 

Welp, this month is not only sure to be busy busy busy but it is also going to make for an awesome last hurrah before I continue to prepare again for the upcoming school year!
