The Bachelorette Finale: Deseree

August 6, 2013 in I Adore What I Love >/div>

Last night was the season finale of The Bachelorette with Deseree Hartsock and let me just put it out there – this is the first episode all season long that my eyes were actually glued to the TV!

As you know, I love me some Bachelor/Bachelorette but this season for some reason was not as exciting for me as in year’s past.  I found myself checking and responding to emails on my computer or making dinner or even scrolling through my instagram feed on my phone all while watching each episode this entire season.  For the first time in Bachelor history, the episodes never really held my full attention.

Last night, though –

I was singing a different tune!
Even Chris Harrison knows that he dubs every single season the most.dramatic.season.ending.yet, but this time I think it might have been for real.  Yes Chris, it was indeed dramatic.  Not only did it made me cry, it made me smile and laugh and cringe all at the same time.  Des has definitely redeemed herself from episodes past and while I admire that she was never really about the drama (which is probably why I felt a little bored watching at times), I’m glad she stayed true to herself the whole way through and made it out in one piece with a (blindingly GORGEOUS!!) ring on her finger!!   In the end, it was Chris Siegfried who she chose and I think it’s safe to say that he chose her right back.
I am so so happy for the happy couple!

I have to admit though, that I was not expecting that to be the outcome!  Not knowing a thing this time around, I really thought that Brooks was going to come back to Antigua, confess his true love for Des and that they were going to end up engaged and happily ever after.  As someone who never really was a fan of Brooks, it’s safe to say that I’m glad I was wrong. She’s way too good for him anyways. (Though I do think he came off very charming last night on ‘After the Final Rose’, not going to lie!)

But my favorite part of last night was when they announced who the next Bachelor is going to be: Juan Pablo!  I don’t know about you but I was shocked in the best way possible!!  I was literally screaming along with all the other women in the ‘After the Final Rose’ audience.  All I have to say is go ABC for the exciting unexpected surprise!  I can’t wait for next season already!

With that, I will leave you with a new installment of Jimmy Kimmel’s “The Baby Bachelor” –
I literally stayed up last night to watch it because I knew it was going to be on.  #WorthIt
