Remember when I told you (during my Thanksgivukkah Gift Guide post) that I would soon be sharing another fun holiday gift guide?? Well it’s here and you should get excited!!
With just TWO, I repeat, TWO, days until Christmas, I have a bundle of last-minute gifts to share with you all that are sure to make the best gifts. The theme of this gift-guide, you ask?
If you haven’t heard of them, subscription boxes are pretty much the new it thing. Here’s the gist: you pay the said amount per month (most services will auto-charge your credit card on monthly basis unless you tell them otherwise) and all the sudden a wonderful box of goodies will arrive at your door! Each month, you’ll get different surprises inside the box that make it all the more fun and exciting to open. The boxes are typically themed, depending on the service that you chose to order from, and while some send you smaller samples of products, others send you the real-deal full product size amount!
This past year alone, tons of subscription box companies turned up more than ever and I guarantee 2014 is going to bring an even greater amount of monthly boxes into our lives… which I am totally all for!
Of course you can subscribe to them for yourself, but now most companies offer gift subscriptions as well! Here is my round-up of the best subscription boxes to gift this holiday season:
Kind of awesome, right?!? (Go ahead, PIN-IT! I know you want to!)
Here are the deets on each of the boxes shown above:
Birchbox Women: This is one of the first subscription box companies on the market which paved the way for the rest. For $10 a month, you get a variety of high-end beauty products that range from smaller sample sizes to the occasional full-sized product. I’ve gifted Birchbox to my sister-in-law and for just $30 dollars, she received 3 months of surprise Birchbox gifts in the mail! Fun!
Birchbox Men: According to their website, the Men’s Box contains “top-tier grooming products in addition to lifestyle accessories ranging from hip socks to tech accessories” and at only $20 a month, most men (namely those who’d prefer not to shop for these types of products in the stores) wouldn’t be able to resist.
KLUTCHclub: OMG – I love this one! KLUTCHclub is a monthly fitness and health box that caters to women, men, and moms (read: individual boxes are offered for each kind of person)! Each box costs $10 plus $8 for shipping – so $18 total. Not bad! Featured items may include a fitness DVD, the famous Aquatowel, and tons of healthy snacks. They also sell specialty boxes that you can order from their website at different prices, such as the “Best of Gluten Free Box” or “Best of Snack and Tea Box”. Too good to be true? I think not!
UBOX: In layman’s terms, UBOX is a monthly care package for college students. Past boxes consisted of college/dorm room necessities, like a Tide Stick, white-out, collapsible storage containers, and Downy Spray. All boxes also include some food items, like a popcorn envelope, peanut butter cups, and Pop Rocks! All boxes are $35 a month. If only they had this when I was in college… although I suppose most people love getting care packages at whatever age you are!
Dollar Shave Club: The concept behind this company is totally brilliant. We all know that razors are expensive, right?!?! RIGHT! (They’re upwards of $20 a pop!) Well, Dollar Shave Club realized that problem and solved it. All you have to do is select a razor (there are “3 great blades to choose from” – as noted on their website) and each comes attached to a different price per month. The lowest being $1 (not including s&h) and the highest being $9 (including s&h). The blades are supposedly awesome and for someone like my husband who HATES going out to buy new razors (he makes me do it), this would be right up his alley. You can also buy shave butter on the site ($8) for the perfect shave every time.
Fancy Food Box: This box is exactly what it sounds to be… an awesome box of fancy foods! Each box costs $39 plus $7.95 shipping within the US. From what I hear though, it’s totally worth the price and you usually end up with around $70-$75 dollars worth of food in the box. The website describes it like this: “Each Fancy Food Box includes five or more food products – anything from cookies and chocolates to teas and sauces – along with a selection of tasty recipes and pairing suggestions.” Ummm, sign me up!!!!!!!!!!!! (I know I’m Jewish and we already had our gift-giving winter holiday, but hint-hint… I want this!)
POPSUGAR Must Have: This, I hear, is the mecca of lifestyle boxes within the biz. It’s brought to you by the editors of POPSUGAR and each box features their “Must Have” products for all departments of life, including beauty, fashion, home, food, fitness and more. The monthly subscription cost is $39.95 (free shipping included – woohoo!) but with that being said, every box is guaranteed to value more than $100 in total items! Also, unlike many of the other subscription boxes that give sample sizes, POPSUGAR Must Have boxes only contain full-size products and premium items! Typically, the box is geared towards women only but occasionally, the POPSUGAR people come out with special Men-only boxes too. What more could you ask for? I’m adding this one to my future gift list too for anyone that wanted to know… :)
As I mentioned earlier, every one of the subscription boxes that I’ve featured can be given as gifts!
Do you know anyone who would love this as much as I would? Which box do you think you’d gift to him/her? Let me know in the comments section of this post!
