Did you know that, starting today, Chicago Restaurant Week is finally upon us?? This year, the official restaurant week dates are January 22nd through February 4th, so basically that means that for two weeks {yes, we get a bonus week!!} the finest restaurants in this delicious foodie city of ours has INSANE prices {$22 for lunch / $33 or $44 for dinner} on prefix menus featuring their best and most popular dishes. My mouth is watering just thinking about it!!!
So in years past, Isaiah and I have literally reserved opentable reservations wayyyy in advance and booked date night dinners almost every night during this week. Kind of crazy but can you blame us? We were without child, wanted to try all the restaurants that we’ve been hearing about for a fraction of the cost. Many times we’d go to the fancy restaurants, sometimes the new ones {no matter if they were upscale or not}, we often had at least one chic and trendy restaurant resie on our schedule and then we always would go back to the oldie but goodies, too. It was also a great excuse to put on my cutest top, hit the town, and have fun together while creating lasting memories! Though we didn’t make advance reservations this year, I’m hoping to at least get in to a few of the newest and coolest foodie restaurants that Chicago has to offer.
Fortunately for everyone, there are over 350 Chicago restaurants that take part in this, with a huuuuge range of different types of cuisines to choose from. I took the guess work out of wondering where to go and found some UHmazing menus that I feel pretty confident will appeal to everyone. And because so many restaurants are booked at this point, I am only going to include those restos that you still might actually get a chance to try (weeknights are probably your best bet at this point, but you never know!) The good news is that with soooo many options to choose from, doing research for this post was really easy!

AMERICAN CONTEMPORARY FARE: Seven Lions
ASIAN FUSION FARE: Roy’s
FRENCH FARE: Mon Ami Gabi Lincoln Park
ITALIAN FARE: Bar Siena // RPM Italian

Something to note, if you have food allergies (which is something I now have to thing about, ughhh), make sure to check out the restaurants that will cater to you! Here are the restaurant week vegetarian friendly menus, vegan friendly menus, and gluten-free friendly menus.
