The Best Dry Shampoo That I’ve Ever Tried

Yep, you read that right. This post is about the best dry shampoo that I’ve ever tried… and let me tell you, I’ve tried A LOT. Most of you have probably heard the term dry shampoo, and most of you have probably even tried a few, but if not, allow me to enlighten your world: dry shampoo is a shampoo in powder form, applied to your hair without water. After rubbing it into your locks, your hair is supposed to look fresh and so clean clean! And it works! That is if you find a good one :)

It’s Monday! And on Mondays, I always like to start my week with a nice, long shower. But I’m not going to lie you guys, washing my hair is not my favorite thing. I get in the shower everyday but I’m not one to wash my hair everyday. First of all, the hair gods that be say that it’s really not good for your mane to be washed on a daily basis {haven’t you heard this before, too?} Second of all, the whole process of showering, shampooing hair in the shower, conditioning hair in the shower, and then drying your hair once you get out of the shower {especially the latter} is long! And I’m sometimes lazy! Let’s keep this between us; thanks.

On Mondays, however, I wash my hair. Tuesdays on the other hand, it’s probably not in the cards for me. So tomorrow, when I wake up and get dressed and look in the mirror, my hair is going to be lifeless, flat, and probably a little oily. What’s a girl to do?

Use my favorite dry shampoo, of course!

Most of the ones that I’ve tried {can you believe i’ve probably tried 20+ over the past 15 years, when they first came out!! it’s true} aren’t cheap, and it makes me sick to spend money on something that I’ve tried a few times and didn’t end up loving, so they have been returned. To me, a great dry shampoo is one that makes your hair look healthy, manageable and full of body! Even more, a great dry shampoo makes your hair look that way ALL.DAY.LONG. This one does just that… and it’s less than $10!!!!!!!

I’ve also realized over the years that I prefer dry shampoos in an aerosol spray can, as opposed to ones that comes in squeeze bottles with powder that you sprinkle over your hair. And for me, I like a dry shampoo that comes in a dark shade for my brunette locks. One that smells nice is always a plus, too.

The one I love {and adore}, by the brand Batiste, is a long-time favorite. The aerosol can works perfectly every time {unfortunately, i’ve tried many where this was not the case}, the actual dry shampoo shade matches the color of my hair when mixed in, and while my hair feels a little chalkier than normal after using it, it looks full, beautiful, and like I just got out of the shower! I kid you not! I love!

I feel like you would love it too! It comes in different shades: from light and blond, to medium and brunette, to dark and deep browns, AND, it comes in a HUGE array of different aromas! There’s cherry, tropical, fresh, and fruity and floral, amongst others. They also have mini bottles that are small enough to carry with you everywhere you go. Check them all out by clicking HERE.

Before I sign off though, I just want to leave you with some advice… when using your favorite dry shampoo, make sure you spray it on at least 6 inches away from your hair. Afterwards, let it set for a few minutes before rubbing or lightly brushing it in. Because no matter what brand you use, this will make a huge difference in how well it works. PROMISE.

Have you ever tried dry shampoo before? Let me know in the comments section of this post which one is your favorite!

Hi Dana! I have tried several dry shampoos also. My favorite? Cleanse Extend translucent dry
shampoo purchased at Ulta Cosmetics stores. No white residue. It comes in “mango coconut” scent and really adds texture and body to flat hair!

Awesome! I’ve yet to try Batiste. I’m still working on my dry shampoo from Lush & it’s taking forever! :]
