Weekly Wins // #3

February 19, 2016 in I Adore Mom Life, I Adore What I Love

It’s FRIYAY!! Woohoo! I’m ready to move on from this week so let’s get started right away with my WEEKLY WINS! Make sure to read everything because there are a few new coupon codes not to be missed! PS Just an FYI, all the links are in PINK. Xox

Valentine’s Day! I really only started loving Vday once my husband and I started dating. Before that, however, not so much. But now! It’s one of my favorite holidays! I really do LOVE love and there’s no better excuse to celebrate the L word than in February. This year was obviously totally different because we have a toddler but it made it all the better! Did you see my little hunka hunka burnin’ love on my instagram and on the blog facebook page?? Oh you missed those posts? Well, here you go….

I Adore What I Love Blog // Weekly Wins #3 // Brody on Valentine's Day // #iadorewhatiloveWHAT BRODY WORE:
Red tee
by LovelyLittlesShop {use code YAY20 for 20% off anything in the shop}; Ripped Skinny jeans by FarmFreshDenim on Etsy {use code IADORE for 20% off anything in the shop}; Shoes (old) by GapKids, semi-similar red shoes here; White long sleeve shirt by Zara

So last week I was at my parents house, which will always really be considered my house, but whatever, and I showered there. I always use a towel wrap when I blow dry my hair so when I was at their house, and didn’t have my normal bath routine stuff, I was a little bummed! My mom came to my rescue, however, because she had a towel wrap that I ended up using. Except this one was WAY better than any towel wrap that I have ever used. For starters, it has a snap closure instead of velcro which I really liked {ensuring it wasn’t going to come off of me even with the heat of my blow dryer, which sometimes happens}. On top of that, the material of the wrap was a SUPER SOFT terry and felt so nice on my skin! Is that really weird to say? Anyways, it’s true. THIS is the exact towel wrap. I bought myself one and just adore it.

Saturday night was game night for me! With my fellow teachers turned good girl friends!!! We all brought a bunch of games – and food, of course – but ended up getting caught up in the night and conversation and laughing and catching up that we only played one round of Telestrations, which you guys, I brought to the party {but had never played before hand} and it is definitely my new fave!! It is like everyone’s favorite childhood game telephone but with pictures that you draw. Let me tell you, So many LOLs for sure! My bestie, Blake, is a big fan as well but she has the after dark version. She’s way more scandalous than me apparently. Ha! Love you Blakey! {to be fair, i didn’t know that existed or else i probably would have bought it too}

At the suggestion of my friend Ashley, this week we decided to try Home Chef. For those of you who are unfamiliar, it’s pretty similar to Blue Apron, which most of you have probably heard of already, or even tried before! Isaiah and I tried Blue Apron once awhile back and while we enjoyed the entrees, I found the recipes to be too tedious and really time-consuming. The recipes to the dishes we made with Home Chef, on the other hand, were super straight-forward and pretty simple {read: SO EASY} and didn’t use a ridiculous amount of ingredients! But more than that, they were really delicious and filling too!

I Adore What I Love Blog // Weekly Wins #3 // Home Chef Pics 1 // #iadorewhatilove

To put it simply, they were actually meals that a home chef would make but they tasted PROFESSIONAL {and looked it, if I do say so myself}! And it was so nice to have all the ingredients delivered to us, with the exact perfect amounts that we needed. Anyyyyyyyways, they have 10 dishes that you can choose from each week {with many gluten-free, dairy free, and vegetarian/vegan options!} and they even send you a binder so you don’t lose the recipes and can keep them for a later time! I loved that nice little touch, especially because I would definitely lose the recipe sheets if they didn’t have their own safe place. {wednesday night’s dinner: first time I’ve ever cooked steak – i knowwww – and Isaiah thought I picked it up from a restaurant. home chef for the win!}
I Adore What I Love Blog // Weekly Wins #3 // Home Chef Salmon // #iadorewhatilove
{thursday night’s dinner: this salmon was OUT.OF.CONTROL. i will 100% be making it again… the cooked apples added a whole other delicate and delicious dimension}

As for the third meal of one-pot chicken, we’ll be making that tomorrow night! I’ll report back to let you know how it goes :)

Did everyone have a great Vday?? Ours was SO great! We went to my niece’s house for dinner, who turns 2 next month, and had a blast! I say we went to my niece’s, instead of saying that we went to my brother and sister-in-laws because SHE RUNS THE HOUSEHOLD! She is the cutest thing in the world and totally gets away with it! I love her! Obviously I had to gift her with a sweet Valentine so this year, I got her the cutest pair of black leggings and pink sweater both covered in hearts!!! Now, I told her parents she is not allowed to wear the two together but if Sloane wants to do that, who I am to judge?!? Shop the adorable sweater here and leggings here, which are both now on sale {lucky you!!} and can be worn any day of the year {not just on Vday} from Gap Kids!

February is more than half-way over and I think today would be a good time to reread my Monthly Musts post from the beginning of the month! There are TONS of great ideas for Chicagoans, Chicago families, and anyone in the world to do… have you tackled any of these things yet? Tell me in the comments, otherwise, there’s still time! 11 more days of February to be exact!

The Bloglovin’ app is the best! It’s also a website too and I use both all the time! I’ve actually written a blog post all about it before {click here to read it} when it first came out but a few years later and I’m telling you, I’m still lovin’ Bloglovin’! Basically, you download the app or open the website, and then you can follow all your favorite blogs on there. If you have the app, they will send you notifications and/or emails when your fave blogs post new content so you never miss out! This past week, I had too many things on my mind to go to bed at a normal time but I spent a few nights catching up on my fave blogs via Bloglovin’ and I’ve even discovered a few new fun blogs too. Follow I Adore What I Love HERE.

OMG. Can we just talk about the tv situation from Monday night?? The Bachelor, Vanderpump Rules, AAAAND THE GRAMMYS were ALL ON… at the same time! INSANE. The whole night was a watch win for me!! If I’m being honest though, Isaiah and I watched The Grammys and they were pretty great. I say this every year but it’s like one big concert that’s better than being at the concert because you can watch at home in your pjs. I loved them! Also, let’s just talk about T-Swifts little crop-top skirt number, shall we?!? You will never see a crop-top on me but damn she looked gooooooooood.

A FLOPPY HAT! It’s been pretty sunny all week so obviously I had to whip out my black floppy hat when I did make it out! It makes me feel so chic and expensive. Mine is pretty inexpensive, however, because it’s from Target and only $19.99 {click here for the direct link} but I also love this one, in grey especially, from Nordstrom {my fave store at the moment}.

As for the rest of this outfit, this black shirt is the same one as the white one that I was wearing with the scarf in this postunfortunately now sold out but this one is VERY similar.

I live in these leggings and have them in 4 colors {#truth} and ughhh, sold out too {well, you can still get them in a x-small in grey here for 40% off, i might add} but these are semi-similar, really cool and different!

    WOW, your dinners look absolutely amazing! I love the idea that everything is pre-portioned. I’m big into cooking at home but we often end up with 4x more food than we need so either it spoils or I just bring it to the office for coworkers. I’ve never tried a meal delivery service before but definitely thinking about giving it a try. Have a great weekend!

      Hey Molly! OMG, both Home Chef dinners were out of this world delish! And seriously, SO easy! I’m with you – throwing food out of that I thought I would use that I didn’t is never fun, that’s another reason why I really liked this service! If you try it, def use my $30 off link :) Thanks for stopping by the blog!!

    That maple miso glazed salmon looks amazing! I’ve made a miso glazed black cod before that was really good, so I bet this would be similar :)

      It really was amazing!! Probably very similar to your black cod, I’d imagine!! Thanks for stopping by the blog, Jamie!
