This series, I Adore What I DID, allows me to catch up with you on a more personal level! Take a look at my month through pictures {and some words, too}. Xox
This month has been BUSY! I’ve probably been saying that a lot lately but here’s how I know it’s true: this past weekend was the first one that we had COMPLETELY free, with the exception of a fun night out on Saturday for a friend’s 30th birthday surprise get together! So basically, we did have some plans, but they also allowed us with some free family time too during the days, which was really nice and refreshing for a change. Take a look at all the shenanigans we’ve gotten into over the month of March…
{just a fair warning: because of how busy we were this month, i was mamarazzi to the extreme! i am going to really try and keep it short with the words because there are so many pictures that speak for themselves! PS these photos are unedited and taken with my iPhone… gahhhh!}
Brod got new shoes at Stride Rite! He was measured and everything! His first pair of training shoes which he’s literally lived in all month long. No, he’s not walking yet, but he is getting closer each day! {just an FYI he wasn’t sleeping while getting measured either, it just appears this way in the photo… LOL!}
WHAT BRODY WORE: Camo Joggers {now $23, down from $35}; V-neck Zara Sweater {no longer available}, similar here; bento-box with built in ice-pack.
WHAT I WORE: Fave striped shirt {currently 40% off!}
Above, we are on the plane to Rochester for my father-in-law’s 60th birthday surprise party! Boy was he surprised… all.weekend.long. He didn’t know we were coming, he didn’t know my parents were coming, he didn’t know about the 25-person dinner Saturday night or the 50 person brunch on Sunday! I love surprises! More family and Brody plane pics in this post.
Who has been to Wegman’s? If you’re not familiar {which I never was until I met my husband}, it’s the MECCA of grocery stores! It’s primarily only in the east coast so if you’ve never been and happen to take a trip that way, you MUST go! I’m jealous of my in-laws for having one literally two minutes away from their house. Heading there is pretty much the first thing we do whenever we go visit the Roc! For good reason… do you see those lobster rolls? I’m going to go out on a limb and say it’s better than Whole Foods and Mariano’s combined =)
We always take a couples selfie in Wegman’s. Okay I just made that up, but we did this time! Ha!
WHAT BRODY WORE: White pocket tee; Sweatpants {not available online}, similar here.
While we were visiting Isaiah’s home town, we saw his grandfather. He was totally making the Brodster laugh up a storm!
WHAT BRODY WORE: Blue and white striped tee; Gray thin comfy pants.
It was a loooong day, but I had to snap this pic of Brody being such a trooper while we were waiting for our luggage before going home!
WHAT BRODY WORE: Gray and black hoodie; thin striped comfy pants {not available online} similar here.
On one of the warm-ish weather days this month, Brody and I went to the park together. We ended up staying for over an hour doing alllll the fun things!
If you’ve read my “I Adore What I Did” posts in the past, you’ll know that a month doesn’t go by without going to Whole Foods for lunch! We went a few times this month, but this particular day was special because Brody learned how to eat with a fork! Woohoo!
WHAT I WORE: Black shift dress; plaid scarf {ignore the tag ugh!; no longer available online}, I love this one.
The weekend after going to Rochester, we had my sister-in-law’s niece’s Bat Mitzvah! Thanks to my bestie Alyse for babysitting the Brodster! It’s actually weird being out during the day without him, but we managed to have a little fun, too!
That Saturday night, I had a girls night out with my two best friends, Blake and Alyse, at the Chicago Wine Riot. We literally tried a million different wines! More pics and info about the night in this post.
The next weekend my wholeeeeee entire family got together for dinner at Maggiano’s in Old Orchard Mall. We celebrated lots of big events {just take a look at the cake, above!}
Just another stroll to the park! But we walked there for the first time while I pushed Brody in his smarTrike, instead of his stroller! For info on the trike and other baby toys, see this post.
Swimming got cancelled one Thursday this month, so we went to a Monica + Andy music class to sing along with Mr. Tim. Then we lunched at Summer House Santa Monica with Brody’s friend Blake and my her mom, my friend Randi. These two split grilled cheese. Such a fun and spontaneous day!
Another spontaneous adventure: lunch in Greek Town with Griffin and his parents on a Saturday! First of all, how cute is Griff?? Love that boy and his style! Daddy dressed the Brodster on this day, and he made sure to put him in white and red because Indiana U, our alma mater was playing later that night! Had to show some love… and while they’re no longer in the running to be in the final four, I believe they won that day! Must have been brods in his red and white =) PS see our greek food aftermath here.
PPS it’s Griffin’s mom’s bday today! Happy birthday, Becky! We love you!!!!!!!
WHAT I WORE: Black liquid leggings; the perfect lace eyelet top; black leather jacket {no longer available online}, similar here; light pink foldover bag {no longer available online}, similar clutch here.
The Sunday after that was my bussssssy Sunday {which I touched on in this post}! It started with teaching Sunday School in the early AM, then had my friend Lindsay’s really sweet baby shower {pic of us above; how cute is she?!} and then my niece’s 2nd birthday party later in the day! Being busy is never a bad thing in my book… but I definitely slept well that night!
PS what I got Lindsay for the baby shower here. What I got for my niece’s 2nd bday here.
WHAT BRODY WORE: Striped hooded shirt; dark ripped jeans {no longer sold online}, ripped denim options here.
Sloane’s party was at the Skokie Exploratorium. This place was great for kids! Need to take Brods back sooner than later. He ate up every second because there was so much to do!! Basically, it was like an indoor playground!
I mean, could you die from this pic of Brods and Sloane eating pizza together at the bday? They’re not even looking at each other, but still, I could die!
Jeffrey’s mom, my friend Maayan, was on spring break last week so we got to do some fun things with them! On this particular morning we went to the play space Duck Duck Goose and the boys were fully entertained by all the new-to-them toys to play with! Who doesn’t love the ball pit!??!
Later that day, we went to Auntie Blakey’s and hung with her! B and Blake love each other and I love this shot of them laying on the couch together!
This past Saturday night was A BLAST. I’m going to talk about it more during Friday’s weekly wins post {because I already know it’s a win!} but basically, one of our friends turned 30 and his girlfriend set up a little surprise {party} get together for him at her abode. Private chef and all… it was baller! Be on the lookout for Friday’s post to hear more!
What a month! And there’s still a few more days! Like the last two “I Adore What I Did” posts, today’s falls on Brody’s monthly birthday too. He’s 15 months today to be exact! Next week, I tell you 15 things I’ve learned in the past 15 months. Get excited for that!

How did I not know that wegmans had lobster rolls…I know where I’ll be going this weekend LOL!! So glad you guys were able to surprise your FIL!! xo, Biana –BlovedBoston
Ahhh so jealous that you live by a Wegman’s, Biana! The one in Rochester that we go to is a flagship store and it’s HUGE! They literally have EVERYTHING! They also sell just the crab meat salad sans bun. If I could I would have taken 5 pounds of it home! The best!! Xox
I Adore What You Did In March Dana! Love the pics too!
Why thank you!!
I would be a total ‘mamarazzi’ if I had a cutie bear like Brody…he is adorable! So cute how he is observing while getting measured for shoes.
