Weekly Wins // #15

Weekly Wins is a series where I touch on my “wins” from the week in the categories of love, buy, do, eat, give, read, tech, watch and wear. It’s 100% my favorite post to write. Enjoy!

My new basil plant! So I love using basil in most everything I make but it’s not cheap. I was at the grocery store this week and instead of buying a small pack of basil for $6 I decided to get the plant for $2! I would say that’s a deal!! Going to be honest though, I have NO green thumb in me so I was always hesitant to buy the plant BUT even if I can’t keep it alive, it is a much better investment! Right?! Not sure why I didn’t think about that sooner. Either way, I am happy to report that I’ve really been trying to take great care of it, watering it, and rotating it everyday so the sun shines in on a different angle. Get ready for some recipes using the basil from my new plant! And in the case  that you want your own basil plant, here’s an organic one you can buy on Amazon in a can. FUN!

Listen up, boy mamas! I bought the coolest new shoes for my new walker boy and you’re going to want them too! They’re Nikes, they’re mesh and breathable for the summer, and they are so trendy that they make any outfit look good! Shop them for your babe HERE! What’s more? They come in adult sizes too! Shop adult sizes HERE.

{FYI: B is wearing these with black socks here but without socks, you can see through the holes!}

Omgosh we had a fun filled week but going to have to say that taking our first road trip  with the Brodster took the cake! We went to visit cousins in Michigan over the weekend and had the BEST time! While I was nervous about the long drive with a 16-month-old mobile toddler, it ended up being a great trip {though heading there was better than the way home. ha! nobody wants to go home after a fun-filled trip so …understandable!} I Adore What I Love Blog // WEEKLY WINS #15 // Michigan // #iadorewhatilove

Gluten free pizza from Lou Malnati’s!!! Ummm, can you say YUM? It tastes no different than their regular pizza! Sooo, I posted this photo below on my instagram but the pizza was just so good that it really was my eat win of the week! Basically, I couldn’t not post this pic again on the blog! I got their spinach and mushroom thin pizza and it was beyond delish!!! The best Sunday night dinner everrrrrr =)

PS If you’re not from Chicago, you MUST head straight to Lou’s when you get here. They’re famous for their deep dish but I’m privy to their thin! {either way, you can’t go wrong}

We couldn’t go to Michigan empty handed! DUH! We got Rylee {who just turned a year old} and Jonah {who’s almost 4!} a few things each but I think the win-gift goes to one of the presents we got for Jonah: A SUPER SOAKER!!! Of course while we were there it was like 40 degrees outside but hopefully the weather will get warmer so he can put that super cool super soaker to good use! PS I’m so mad at myself for not taking a pic of that fun toy while we were there so a photo from the web will have to do! I Adore What I Love Blog // WEEKLY WINS #15 // Super Soaker // #iadorewhatilove

A good read that my mom sent my way. You all know that I’m trying to be more conscious of the makeup and skin products I use {hence my love affair with Beautycounter} so when I read this article, I was immediately intrigued.

Have you downloaded the new google keyboard on your cell phone yet? It launched last week but I wanted to use it for a bit first to determine if I liked it before sharing it with you guys. Well, you’re in luck because I LOVE IT. Just a few cool features: searchable emojis by typing in what you’re looking for, glide typing {if you fancy that}, easily accessible GIFS, and an embedded google search! The only thing it doesn’t include that I wish it did was voice texting. You can record your voice and send that to someone but where’s the button to talk into your phone so your words turn into text? Overall, I highly recommend downloading it and think it’s way better than the regular ‘ol English keyboard your phone comes with!

This is not new this week but rather, new to me! Did you happen to catch Alanis Morissette on The Late Late Show with James Corden in November? I shockingly didn’t and it truly boggles my mind that I haven’t seen this clip earlier than now! Anyways, if missed, together Alanis and James sing an updated version of “Ironic” and it is gooooood.  I’ve honestly watched it over and over all week! Hilarious!

Ok, I’m cheating a bit because this pic is from Mother’s Day but I can promise you that I wore this top this week too; just didn’t take a pic. This top is everything I ADORE: white, sweatshirty, oversized, and short-sleeved for the spring and summer months. The one bummer is that it’s currently sold out and no longer online because of that. BUT click HERE for another sweatshirty short sleep little number that’s pretty similar to mine and oh so cute!!! {i mean, not sure it’s as cute as my nephew Owen in this pic but I don’t think anyyyyything is!}

I think Brody loves his shoes too – he basically kept them on all weekend long! He definitely walks better in them so that’s good! Also, you totally just made me blush, Jalisa. Not even kidding! • Courtney May 23, 2016 at 8:20 am

    I really need to start growing herbs in my apartment too! I cook a ton and it seems so much more economical to invest in some seeds rather than having to buy new herbs every other week!

    • Dana Ivy May 23, 2016 at 10:17 am

      Do it girl! I’m realizing now just how much more economical it really is! Hope you have a great start to your week lady! Xox

  • Colleen K May 23, 2016 at 8:57 am

    • Dana Ivy May 23, 2016 at 10:18 am

      Totally agree, Colleen! Not ideal since they grow out of them so quickly but for good quality, I’ll pay more! Xox

  • Taislany Gomes May 23, 2016 at 9:54 am

    I should definitely try gluten free pizza! Sounds great!
