This series, I Adore What I DID, allows me to catch up with you on a more personal level! Plus, you can see and get the deats on WHAT WE WORE!!! Take a look at our month through unedited iPhone pictures {read: they won’t always be the best quality but #reallife} and some words, too. Xox
So if you didn’t see yesterday’s post, you might not know that right now you’re reading the SECOND installment of June’s I Adore What I Did series, and tomorrow there will be a third! I’ve never done a 3-part {or even a 2-part} I Adore What I Did but there’s a first for everything right?! Not to mention it’s my blog and I can do what I want to! Ha! I always tell my engaged friends that when they’re planning for their big day, “it’s your wedding; you make the rules” and I’m kinda applying that to my blog right now. It’s my blog, I make the rules! I’m also LOLing as I type this because I totally recognize that I’m rambling and you probably want me to just get on with the post already… so, here we go! Oh, but first, back to yesterday’s post… if you did in fact miss it, click here to read it before you come back to read this one!
We took a paint class!!! Okay, so while it was literally the cutest thing on this Earth and Brody had the.best.time.everrrrr it was kind of a nightmare for me! I’ll tell you why: he was walking around like he owned the place, taking paintbrushes out of the other kids hands, and taking over their easels. Not to mention, he spilled paint everywhere too. He did the craft… kinda. Which consisted of an ice cream cone using real sprinkles. And all he wanted to do was eat the sprinkles! But the most important thing is that he had so much fun and because of that, I would go again with him in a heartbeat!
Brody’s friend Charlie was in the class with us too and they decided to paint on the same easel together… well, more like Brody decided to barge in and paint with her whether she wanted him to or not. Good thing she was a good sport and didn’t care to much. And hey, it made for a pretty great photo op from a mamarazzi perspective!
WHAT BRODY WORE: Infant White Sox Hat; Striped tank top; Comfy jean shorts, sold out, similar here; NEW Nike Roche Gym Shoes – they’re orange and black with a hint of purple!
We celebrated Brody’s friend Sammy’s second birthday party a few weeks ago! The party was in Sammy’s backyard and not only was there a music lady there {who had the Brodster at first song} but there were also so many new toys for Brody to play with EVERYWHERE!! It was pretty much heaven for him! Plus, it was a gorgeous day! Woop woop!
We went to De Cero, a new-to-me Mexican resto located in the West Loop with our friends Amelda and Brad. It was a parents night out and the resto was delish, plus it was a really bright, lively, and fun atmosphere too! Steak tacos were amaze and so were their margs!
WHAT I WORE: Rag and Bone Distressed Jeans; Sandals {currently 40% off and they come in black and coral, too!}
If you follow me on insta, you know I bit the bullet this month and bought these jeans that I was lusting over! And let me tell you, every time I wear them the compliments roll in like whoa! At first I wasn’t sure if I wanted them because of the jean patches under the rips but then I realized it’s a plus because I can wear them in the negative 10 degree weather come winter! Deal breaker! Shop these jeans here AND these sandals {which are currently 40% off!!} here, which happen to have been a recent weekly win!
WHAT I WORE: White and black knit dress.
For Father’s Day, we went to my uncle’s house and my new nephew, Owen, and I snapped a little selfie. Then I got artsy and decided it looked cool in black and white! I can’t get over how cute he is!
WHAT BRODY WORE: Infant White Sox Hat; World’s Greatest Eater t-shirt, not sold online and I haven’t found anything similar grrr.
You guys, this photo is my favorite of all time!!!!!!!!! Sloane has never really wanted to play with the Brodster before and she is just getting used to him in her life. It makes my heart melt to see these two cutie cousins smile together and be silly!!!!!
WHAT I WORE: Denim off-the-shoulder dress
My mom and I went shopping and she picked out this off-the-shoulder denim dress for me and then bought it for me! So on trend, so comfortable, and SO CUTE. I wore it in Arizona for my friend Kelly’s bachelorette party {which you can come back to the blog tomorrow and hear more about} and it’s quickly become one of my breezy and easy summer favorites! Thanks mom!
So the pic is incredibly blurry but it sure showcases how much fun Brody was having in his music class at Bubbles Academy! We actually did a few classes there in June because he just adores them! This is definitely his favorite toy to play with, as he claims it every class we’ve taken there, and as I’m writing this, I’m realizing that’s probably a sign that I need to get him one to have at home! Right?
One of my best friends in the world happens to live in Colorado. Her son Bricker is a month younger than Brody; they came in town and we got to hang with them for literally the whole entire day! Aside from naps, we were with them from early morning until late at night!! It was the best. They were here a few months ago {I actually talked about our excursion to the Shedd Aquarium with them in my first ever “I Adore What I Did” post here} but our babies have turned into boys since then and they were playing with each other like old buddies! I literally took about 98,067 photos of these two this day but I’ll spare you those pics for this sweet one of them lunching above. LOVE.
Sidenote: Bricker got Brody his cool mini-sized and personalized Camelbak water bottle for his birthday and at the beginning of this month, Brody finally figured out how to use it! Which brings me to the fact that he won’t drink out of anything else now. Seriously. This kid!
{shop for your own camelbak mini water-bottle here and the adult version here #twinningwithyourmini}
WHAT BRODY WORE: Infant White Sox Hat; Black t-shirt as apart of this set; Star pants, no longer available online, these ones are just as adorable!!
I’ll end this post by showing you a pic of Brody at the park, since we’re pretty much there every nice day there is. On this particular day, he was on the swing and then all the sudden he does the “all done” sign language sign. Still smiling, of course. Looks like he’s doing a birdie symbol with his hands. Or some rap symbol or something. My little bad ass toddler! Ha!

OMG that paint party! I can totally see from the pics how it was a total blast for him but as a mom less than ideal haha. Props for you though for sticking through it, and if he loved it now he will definitely love it when hes older as well when you wont have to step in quite as much. Hope you had a lovely 4th!
