LA Vacay Recap // Part 2

I Adore What I Love Blog // LA VACAY RECAP PART 2 // #iadorewhatilove

Happy Friday friends! I’m foregoing the usual Weekly Wins to finish recapping our LA trip! Yesterday, I told you all about the first part of our vacay {if missed, read it first here!} and today I bring you the second part, including my friend Marissa’s rehearsal dinner, beautiful wedding, and all the fun things we did inbetween! I’ll also spill all the beans about that UH-DOR-ABLE yellow off-the-shoulder dress and purple lace dress everyyyyyone has been asking me about. So get excited because the wait is over you guys… and links to start shopping both these dresses, and more of what I wore in Cali, are below!

WHAT I WORE: Splendid white t-shirt; comfy chambray drawstring shorts, sold out, similar pair here; my favorite waterproof Birkenstocks.

After a delicious lunch at TrueFoods Kitchen {which is my fave and as I’ve mentioned on the blog before, happens to be opening up to the Chi soon!!}, we spent Friday walking the 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica. My parents haven’t been to LA in over a decade and my mom was in heaven! Can’t go wrong with a nice sunny day, stores galore, and good company! Besides for that, it also worked out for me because I realized that the yellow dress that I wore to my friend’s rehearsal dinner still had that thing attached that buzzes when you walk in or out of a store. So annoying but luckily I realized it when packing so I could get it taken care of before I needed to wear it! I feel like things like this always happen to me. Tell me you’ve been there too!?!

Rehearsal dinner-ing at Michael’s in Santa Monica. We literally spent all day on the promenade, drove back to the hotel, showered and changed, and then went back that way for dinner. But the rehearsal dinner was a great time and we laughed all night long!

WHAT I WORE: Cupcakes and Cashmere yellow off-the-shoulder-dress; if sold out in your size, click here, here, and here for a few very similar just-as-adorable options! BCBG envelope clutch, old, love this one; nude pumps, old, I adore these ones

Okay, so here’s the moment of truth. Don’t get mad at me, you guys. This dress was a big hit and I felt so cali wearing it, however, I bought it months and months agoI bought it specifically for this rehearsal dinner and actually was shopping with my mom who just so happened to pick it out for me. {i always find the best stuff when I’m with her!!} I knew I had to have it once I tried it on and wanted to save it for a special occasion. What I’m trying to say is that it’s all sold out now in every size EXCEPT a large!! You should note that I wore a small, so take that for what it is. And just an FYI, there’s a great chance it might come back in stock in other sizes too because last week when I checked, all sizes were sold out! Click here to find it online! I DID FIND SO MANY VERY SIMILAR YELLOW OFF-THE-SHOULDER DRESSES THOUGH! So don’t fret! See the other options just like this one above, start shopping, and let the compliments roll in!

On Saturday we got up, got ready, and headed straight to The Grove! We first walked all around the farmer’s market and then went in and out of all the stores. It sure is hopping there!!!

These lemons, though. {insert hands in the air emoji here!}

WHAT I WORE: White silky tank, old, LOVE this similar one; Scalloped black shorts

Isaiah and I posing for the camera at The Grove! I was wearing a hat all day and for some reason took it off for this photo and I’m realizing now that my hair is as flat as could be. Ugh! Pretend it’s very voluminous, okay?! Thanks!

HATS!!!!!!!!! All the fedoras and sun hats anyone could ever want in all the colors of the rainbow! I actually bought one there that day {you can see it in the next photo!}

Family photo-op in front of the fountain! So, what do you think… like my hat?! I’m kind of obsessed!!

Oh my gosh! Did I forget to mention it was my mom’s birthday on Saturday?! Well it was! After The Grove we headed to Bev Hills and walked around Rodeo Dr. {yep, the first title photo you saw in this post is one that I took that day!} and then ate lunch at Nate ‘n Al’s Deli on Beverly Drive. The best part: surprising my mom with all the waiters and waitresses singing HBD to her and bringing her some cheesecake! I think this photo above says it all =)

Wedding time!!!!!!! Marissa and Ingmar were about to tie the knot and the scene could not be more beautiful!

WHAT I WORE: Purple lace dress; nude pointy-toe chunky heels that I wear allllll the time and showcased for the first time here.

Isaiah and I with the gorgeous bride and groom! Isn’t Marissa’s dress the prettiest?! Obviously that’s a rhetorical question because the resounding answer is YES!! I have some inside info that it’s by the designer Watters. Details on my dress above!

Ummm, I still regret not having a photo booth at my wedding because I’m OBSESSED with them! Well, they had one {since they clearly knew better than me} and as you can tell, we took full advantage. #imasuckerforphotobooths #thankfullythephotoboothstaffwasnice

Anddddd I’m going to leave you with this gem of a photo booth photo! The banana prop, you guys, it was PERFECTION. I kind of wanted to take it home with me and if I had enough room in my luggage, I probably would’ve attempted to so! {but oh no, I had zero room in my luggage, and in fact, on the way home, I had to buy another bag to put some of my stuff in because I got to the airport to find out that I left with over 50 pounds. Wah wahhh}

This truly was a memorable trip, if I do say so myself. Not only was it SO relaxing {we got to sleep in everyday!!} but we fit a lot in and did a whole bunch of cali stuff too {we were #soLA}, plus, my parents were with us and I saw one of my oldest friends tie the knot on her special day. I couldn’t have asked for a better vacay!

Tell me in the comments about a memorable trip you’ve taken in the past!
And happy weekend!!

    Looks like such a fun trip!! And I’m pretty sure I need some waterproof Birks in my life; I never know what shoes to wear for football tailgates because I always manage to get my cute sneakers all dirty….but these would be perfect in September while it’s still warm!

    • Dana Ivy July 29, 2016 at 6:32 pm

      It was so much fun Nicole!! Omg obsessed with the waterproof birks. I just realized that they only have them available in orange online but they might still have other colors in stores! Let me know if you get them!! Xox

    What a fun trip! I just love 3rd street, have so many great memories there! Both of those dresses are fab on you and that hat you bought so stinkin’ cute. I always wonder though, how did you get it home without squishing it? Carry on?
