8 Crazy Nights of Hanukkah Gifting: A Guide for Parents

8 Crazy Nights of Hanukkah Gifting: A Guide for Parents // I Adore What I Love Blog // www.iadorewhatilove.com #iadorewhatiloveUm, Hanukkah starts TONIGHT!!!!!!! For all of you parents out there who didn’t realize that or life has just been so crazy hectic that you haven’t even thought about gifts for the kids yet {which don’t worry – I’ve totally been there myself!}, you’re in major luck! Fear not, because right here, right now, I present to you an awesome way to go about celebrating with the kids each night, complete with last minute gift suggestions via Amazon Prime!! {PS if you don’t have Amazon Prime and you’re a parent, what are you waiting for?!? Packages come in 1 or 2 days max – totally worth the $!!!!} And for those of you celebrating Christmas or Kwanzaa or any other kid gifting holiday and still have time to get your presents ready, you should check out my gift guide for kids {specifically for babies and toddlers} that I posted last week!

Ok, so full disclosure: I did not come up with this guide. I wish I did, but I can’t take credit for it all… I’m in a parental Facebook group and one of the moms posted about it as a cute way to celebrate Hanukkah with your kiddos. I thought it was ADORABLE and wanted to pass it on to you guys! What I did do is change the original visual to make it more modern and cool and I also decided to title it. In addition, I tweaked a few of the nightly categories to fit in better for my family {my friend Maayan helped me with this!!} If you look above at the menorah, you will see words that will guide you on how to gift your child specific types of presents for each of the 8 crazy nights shown on each candle. For instance, starting with night #1, you would gift your child something he or she WANTS. Night #2 is something he or she NEEDS. Night #3 is something to EAT, and so on. Make sense? Good!

Take a look below at tons and tons of last minute gift ideas {mostly geared towards toddlers} that correspond to each of the categories for the 8 nights of Hanukkah! All available on Amazon Prime RIGHT NOW which means they can be at your house faster than you can say “Happy Hanukkah!”

Night 1: Something Your Child WANTS

Obviously you know your child best but here are some suggestions to get excited about… I could only guess that the girls would go crazy for this hair styling station and the boys would go wild for this awesome car carrier truck toy!!

Night 2: Something Your Child NEEDS

Wondering what a child might neeeeeeed??? A new backpack {like this cute bow-adorned one for girls and this cool comic one {that just so happens to come with a water bottle too!} for boys} or lunchbox; a beanie and gloves for winter, perhaps?! Yup.

Night 3: Something to EAT

Treat them to their favorite candy, dessert, or the classic holiday guilty pleasure – HANUKKAH GELT! Yum!

Night 4: Something to READ

You can go with the obvious and gift your kiddos alllll the Hanukkah books or here are a few {unrelated to Hanukkah} gems we love here in our household: FOUND, Pout Pout Fish, and Giraffes Can’t Dance.

Night 5: Something to PLAY

The best gifts are the ones that your kids can play with ON THEIR OWN! Am I right?!? Some ideas include a magnetic doodle sketch, wooden building blocks, and this Dyson ball toy vacuum {which brody happens to be getting {shhhh} because he’s obsessed with my adult dyson!! he’s going be the most excited!!}

Night 6: Something to WEAR

Pajamas, tops, bottoms, jackets, a special dress for the girls or even a dress-up costume for both boys or girls – there are so many different routes you can go here! I am particularly obsessed with these really cool {and cheap!!} unisex toddler bottoms and this funny Hanukkah tee!

Night 7: Something FOR LATER

Are you traveling in the coming months? Maybe you want to get something for your trip! Like these colorful sand toys! Personally for me, I like the idea of getting Brody something for the summer {like this insanely awesome blow up pool that his friends got him last year} since his birthday is in the winter as are the holidays and there’s not much action in the summer months for him. It’s fun to save things for a rainy day, or in my case, a hot sunny day! Also loving this fish bubble gun, this plastic ring toss game and this fun scooter{brods LOVES his!!!}

Night 8: Something TO SHARE

At first I was so not sure about this category and then it dawned on me – BOARD GAMES!! A few awesome ones are Let’s Go Fishin’, Hi Ho Cherry-O, and Connect 4!

I’m hoping to make this way of Hanukkah gifting a tradition for the coming years with our family.
Are you into it?
